The modern design of Birkrigg armchair embodies maximum comfort, with its plump cushions and deep inviting seats.
All Slow armchairs have no foam, hidden chemicals and no Fire Retardant treatment or spray glues. Just natural materials, built the right way. Under the top cover is a traditional build: solid hardwood, hessian, rubberised horsehair, Cocolok (rubberised coconut fibre), organic wool and cotton.
The cushions made from 100 percent natural latex wrapped in feather and down. These materials hold their structure, stay comfortable, and stand the test of time, rather than softening, sagging, or needing to be replaced every few years. They’re made to last - and to be repaired, not thrown away.
No bio-foam either.
Bio-foam can sound eco-friendly, but most versions used in sofas are still polyurethane foam – the same family as standard sofa foam. Some fossil ingredients are replaced with plant oils, but it remains a synthetic material that’s difficult to recycle, doesn’t naturally biodegrade, and is likely to stick around in the environment for a long time.
Slow proudly only uses materials that age beautifully, stay comfortable, and avoid landfill waste.
