Spark & Bell is a Brighton-based studio pioneering a new era of sustainable lighting. With a commitment to community-focused craftsmanship and responsible material sourcing, the brand creates contemporary lighting pieces that celebrate both quality and ethics.

Founded by Emer Gillespie — a former fine arts photographer and lecturer — the company began as a personal response to the lack of original, sustainable lighting on the market. Her vision was simple yet ambitious: to combine exceptional local craftsmanship with ethical practices to form a design-led, family-run business.

From its inception, Spark & Bell has established a distinctive aesthetic that fuses Art Deco and Mid-Century references with modern sensibilities. Each piece celebrates the natural beauty of materials such as brass, reeded glass, wood, and ceramics. Today, the range includes decorative wall lights, pendants, chandeliers, ceiling fixtures, table lamps, and IP44-rated bathroom lights.

Every light is handmade to order in the UK, allowing the team to collaborate closely with trade and retail clients on bespoke designs for both residential and commercial spaces.
